The service was exceptional (kudos to our waitress Shelly Also, the owner (Joseph) stops by your table to check to see if everything is alright. Very personalized service and the restaurant is small and quaint. Steak was well prepared and the Veal Saltimbocca was one of the best we have tried in a long time.

Sometimes one is more interested in the view than the food. (The food here is good!) However, the attitude and teamwork is amazing and the ocean view is to die for because the sun is always behind you. They even have a webcam so you can check out the view before you jump in the car. They've got more windows than they've got crockery!

Artichoke's Ristorante
2 Florence Street, Malden, MA

It was my first time at Artichoke's and had heard some praises. It was crowded so I assumed we'd hit on another favorite restaurant. Not so! The service was extremely slow which always irritates me. But, I would have been able to overlook this had the food been good. I ordered one of the specials, veal chop, which was not at all special. It was very tough and had quite a bit of fat left on it. The side of penne was sitting in a puddle of water and the sauce was less than tasty.

The restaurant was so overfull with people and the waiting area is right when you walk in so the wait staff can not even get by. Parking is horrible. The food was cold and the beans were stale. The only positive was the Margarita I ordered.

This totally renovated restaurant is modern, ultra clean and upscale without being stuffy. The menu is interesting and inventive; including both Chinese and Vietnamese cuisine with subtle French influences. On the Chinese side, the Walnut Shrimp in cream sauce and Peking Duck were outstanding. On the Vietnamese side, our new favorites are Beef Luc Lac (diced beef pan seared with onions and black pepper) the tangy rather than sweet Kho Chicken (with spiced caramel sauce and baby bok choy) and the Vermicelli bowl (with grilled pork, lettuce, mint, cucumbers, bean sprouts and peanuts.)

The decor and atmosphere are warm and inviting not to mention spotless even the bathrooms. I have attended many parties where the service has been top notch and the food delicious.

Lack of organization and staffs attention to incoming customers left this hungry client leaving the way we came in, hungry. Also noted many at tables seemed to be waiting on service. Service here very poor. They do need to realize that someone attending to incoming clients is essential.

My wife and I went out with another couple on a recent Saturday night and were told it would be a 45 minute wait. We decided to stay in the bar area and had some great tap Sam Adams light beer and the time went by quickly and our table was ready earlier than we thought. I had a spectacular marinated steak tip dinner that was very tender and flavorful. My wife had a delicious chicken scampi dish that was equally tasty. We would definitely go back again. All four of us were happy and it was worth the wait!

Fabulous food! Fabulous service! I have been there twice. This bistro offers a seasonal limited menu. Everything is prepared to order in their open kitchen. All dishes look beautiful as they pass your table. Everything we have tried has exceeded our expectations. I recommend the Pork Chop, The Seared Tuna and The Duck Breast. For an appetizer, the Steak Tatar is the best I've had.

Soma Restaurant
256 Cabot Street, Beverly, MA
(978) 524-0033

The upscale contemporary decor at Soma presents an inviting, interesting, and trendy atmosphere as you enter the Beverly restaurant. After the initial pleasant introduction, things begin to slip downhill. Spending time at the bar should have been a pleasant introduction, but it turned into frustration as the bar tenders took forever to get a mixed drink or even a simple beer poured. After all that, the drinks were very mediocre and not worth the price tag. The food was presented nicely, but also took far too long to get out once the order was placed. Once the waitress took our order, she was nowhere to be found so bread or water was out of the question till the food came.

I heard on the Pat Whitley Restaurant Show a lot of zings for Applebee's on the best and worst chain restaurants. I used to go to Applebee's in the old Methuen Mall and loved it so I was surprised by all the zings. Today I decided to have lunch at the new Methuen store. What a surprise. I went in and it took 6 minutes before anyone even noticed I was there. When I was finally seated I waited 5 minutes for the server to come. I ordered a drink but it came pretty fast. I ordered a cup of clam chowder and a plate of quesadilla. Eight minutes later the server served me my chowder. I ask for a small pad of butter she agreed to get it. My quesadilla were delivered by another server. My server never came back with butter. The quesadilla was a very large portion and were very tasty (the only plus for my visit.)

Tonight we had the worst meal that we can remember. The grilled cheese club was the saddest sandwich that I have ever seen. I spoke with the owner and he asked me what was wrong and we explained the sandwich, the frozen roll my cheeseburger was served on, the jalapeño poppers with cold cheese in the middle and the cardboard fries. When the server asked how our meals were and we said terrible she laughed and walked away.

My husband and I went there for Sunday brunch. The variety of foods on the buffet table was outstanding! There were all kinds of breakfast items and baked haddock, Swedish meatballs and you could order a 'made to order omelet' from your waiter/waitress. Even the dessert bar had fresh strawberries and pineapple that you could cover with chocolate in their great chocolate fountain. The atmosphere is so cozy and we sat right in front of the huge stone fireplace.

My sons and daughters had a forty fifth anniversary party for us, all fifteen of us, in a very romantic room with a fireplace, complete with chamber music (a group of four). It was the best place to celebrate. The staff was attentive and prompt. My daughter's family also gave us an overnight stay complete with breakfast and dinner for a Christmas gift. It is an awesome place to take out of towners who are visiting. Also, a nice place to walk around during the warmer weather (the chapel, the schoolhouse and the mill). It is my very favorite place to dine.

The most romantic restaurant I have been to was the Grill King in Curacao. The restaurant was outdoor, and our table was on the rocks with the surf pounding against the rocks just below us. The waiter suggested a nice bottle of wine from Chile, and we had wonderful steaks for our meal. It was truly the most memorable meal we have ever had. If I go back to Curacao, I would surely look for this restaurant again.

We have just returned from a delightful Sunday brunch at this hotel. This is not your ordinary brunch. The food was gourmet all the way. Each dish was exquisite in taste and presentation. The desserts were to die for. The ambiance was elegant with white linen table cloths and napkins on all of the tables and the waiters and waitresses all dressed in black and white. This is a lovely place to spend a leisurely Sunday afternoon or a great place for that special occasion.

The wine list has some exceptional, affordable picks, and of course, the service is great; friendly, helpful and informative. When I pulled up to Daniela's I thought I was given the wrong address. From the outside the place looks like an office building, not the 'cool restaurant' my friends told me about. Once inside, I could see what they had meant. The place is very cool! Lots of colors, rough boards, a huge cement bar with a tub full of beer on ice, with a big screen plasma TV. I had a margarita in what looked like a fish bowl. Oh, yeah, the food was good too. Daniela's is now the favorite meeting place for me and my friends!

This restaurant is spectacular. The chimichanga was extremely tasty. Refried beans were light not heavy and the rice was not sticky but light and flavorful. We tried the margaritas from the bartender Luise and they were delicious. This restaurant is spotless and the service is top notch. Casa Blanca is a gold mine with flavor and a delectable menu with Mexican flair. It is a family restaurant where our nine year old loved it. They start you with taco chips warmed with homemade fresh carafe of salsa. Totally amazing.

We have been twice and the food and service has been very good. It’s great on Saturday nights when they have a jazz band. They play smooth jazz and have a female vocalist who also does blues and pop music. The pizza is very thin, almost like a quesadilla but delicious. The pasta primavera and Pasta Tony with cream sauce and tomatoes and caramelized onion was very good too. All very fresh with homemade pasta and very large portions. The eggplant sub was huge and smothered with yummy cheese
